Citizens Health is looking for a Housekeeper to work Full-Time at Prairie Senior, our skilled nursing facility.

Citizens Medical Center - a 25 bed critical access hospital,

Family Center for Health Care - an outpatient rural health clinic,

Prairie Senior- a skilled nursing facility,

Citizens Clubhouse - an onsite childcare center that cares for children 6 weeks to school age for our workforce,

Citizens Medical Equipment - our durable medical equipment business,

Palace Drug Store - our outpatient pharmacy

Location: 1625 S Franklin Ave, Colby, KS 67701

Days: 4-5 days a week, 32-40 hours a week, rotating weekends

Hours: 7:00am to 3:00pm

Pay Range: Begins at $14.70 per hour

What you’ll do:

  • Receive and follow cleaning assignments.

  • Complete routine maintenance on carpets, tiles and vinyl floors.

  • Weigh, wash and dry linens and observe operation of equipment.

  • Fold, weigh, distribute and document laundry and linens.

  • Follow established safety precautions and infection control procedures.

  • Attend meetings and in-services.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table: 

  • No formal education is required for this job.

  • Possess interpersonal skills needed to function in a “team setting”.

  • Understands importance of maintaining established sanitary standards in housekeeping.

  • Please, tactful and courteous to patients/residents, visitors and staff.

  • Appropriate personal hygiene.

  • Ability to work in close cooperation with others and the Department Leader.

  • Ability to read well enough to follow directions and understand the responsibilities of working with chemicals, equipment, both manual and powered and supplies in the Environmental Services Department.

  • Willing and able to participate in educational sessions, in-service training and floor demonstrations.

  • Experience in maintaining sanitary environments is an asset.

Typical Working Conditions: Exposure to soap, dust, housekeeping solutions, steam, heat and disinfecting solutions; need for precautions in infection control, blood borne pathogens, and needle sticks.  May be subject to offensive odors, loud noises, and unpleasant sights.  Will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule.  Move continuously during work hours.  Able to lift and/or carry fifty (50) pounds.  Occasional work in precarious or high locations (ladders, etc.).  Able to adjust normal routines, if necessary.  May be asked to work beyond normal working hours and may be subject to emergency call on off duty hours.  This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.
