Dawn Smith

Dawn Smith, MAI, AI-GRS, currently serves as the Vice President and Residential Appraisal Operations Lead at City National Bank, having joined in July 2021. In this role, Dawn has been instrumental in writing and updating policies for valuation and due diligence teams, establishing valuation reporting programs, managing quality controls, and enhancing communication with lending and underwriting partners. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Commercial Real Estate Advisor at Wells Fargo, where a process for pipeline reporting was established, and as an Operational Oversight Manager at Capital One, leading a quality control team for commercial appraisals. Earlier roles involved commercial real estate appraisal at Paul Hornsby and Company and BBG-Butler Burgher Group, alongside a background in product marketing engineering at Baltimore Aircoil Company. Dawn holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech, along with various certifications and professional designations in appraisal and healthcare valuation.
