Enessa Janes, PhD, AICP is currently the Director of the Department of Vibrant Community and Neighborhoods at the City of Arvada. In the past, Enessa served as the Deputy Director in the same department. Prior to their roles in Arvada, Enessa worked as a Mitigation Champion / Planner II at Resilience Action Partners and as a Research Fellow at the National Science Foundation. Enessa also gained experience working as a Water Quality Monitor in Mongolia for The Asia Foundation. Enessa holds a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University in Earth Systems, a Master of Science in Science Communication from Stanford University, and a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado Denver.
