Sharon Israel, MPA, PE has a rich and diverse work experience in various roles related to utilities, engineering, and water quality control. Sharon is currently serving as the Director of Utilities at the City of Arvada since July 2019. Previously, they held the position of Stormwater Utility Administrator and Senior Projects Engineer at the City of Westminster, Colorado from May 2016 to July 2019. Prior to that, they worked as the Water Resources Engineering Coordinator from April 2013 to May 2016 and as the Reclaimed Water System Coordinator from February 2013 to April 2013 at the same organization.

Before their tenure at the City of Westminster, they worked at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Starting in June 2006, they served as a Professional Engineer in the Water Quality Control Division until March 2007. From April 2007 to February 2013, they worked as the Unit Manager for the Water Quality Control Division.

Additionally, they have experience as a Project Manager at Carter & Burgess from May 2005 to June 2006. Furthermore, they worked as an Engineer in the Water Quality Control Division at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment from December 2001 to May 2005. Sharon'scareer began as a Staff Engineer at S.S. Papadopulos & Associates, Inc. from July 2000 to December 2001.

Sharon Israel, MPA, PE, holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver's School of Public Affairs (completed in 2023). Prior to this, they obtained a Certified Public Manager Certificate from the same institution's School of Public Affairs in 2018. Sharon also holds a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University (completed in 2000) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (completed in 1998), with a minor in Geography. Sharon'seducation journey began at Severn School in 1993.
