Ashley Houston has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ashley started their career at Baby & Me Children's Resale as a Sales Associate from 1996 to 1999. Ashley then worked at Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, first as a Seasonal Data Entry Technician in 2000 and again in 2002. Ashley joined Pier 1 Imports as a Sales Associate and Assistant Manager from 2003 to 2005. Ashley returned to Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission in 2004, where they held roles as a Staff Assistant and later as a Human Resources Assistant and Human Resources Specialist until 2009. During this time, they performed various HR duties such as recruitment, personnel actions, and HR management system administration. From 2009 to 2013, Ashley worked as an Administrative Support Specialist at the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, where they were responsible for budgeting and recruitment. In 2013, they transitioned to the role of an Author at North Coast Kids Guide, where they shared knowledge on activities, shops, and eateries on the northern Oregon coast. Ashley's most recent position is as a part of the City of Astoria, where they started as a Human Resources Assistant in 2016, then progressed to the role of Human Resources Manager in 2020, and currently holds the position of Human Resources Director from November 2022 onwards.
Ashley Houston obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Politics & Government from the University of Puget Sound between 1998 and 2002. Prior to that, they earned a high school diploma in General Studies from Westview High School between 1994 and 1998.
