Jill Loftus has extensive work experience in human resources, with a focus on people and culture. Jill currently holds the position of Associate Director, People and Culture at City of Glasgow College, where they oversee the implementation of wellbeing strategies and develops relationships with key stakeholders. Prior to this, Jill worked at Asda for over 30 years, starting as a Personnel Clerk and Customer Assistant and progressing through various managerial roles in HR. Jill has experience in managing large teams, delivering HR strategies, and ensuring a safe and positive work environment.
Jill Loftus obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Honours degree in Fine Art Printmaking from The Glasgow School of Art in 1994. In 1996, they received a Diploma in Systems Analysis/Design from Bell College. In 2013, they completed a Professional Development Certificate in Management Studies from Manchester Open Learning. In terms of professional certifications, Jill obtained an Associate CIPD certification from CIPD in 2021, along with certifications in First Aid for Mental Health from the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership and PVG from Disclosure Scotland in 2020. Jill also holds additional certifications in HR as a Business Partner from LinkedIn in 2019, MHFA England (Mental Health First Aid) from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in 2017, and SMHFA (Scottish Mental Health First Aid) from NHS Health Scotland in 2013. Currently, Jill is pursuing a National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH, starting in 2022.
