Janella Lewis

Janella Lewis, CPA has a diverse work experience in the field of accounting. Janella started their career in 2006 as a General Ledger Accountant at Norton Sound Health Corporation, where they maintained accounting ledgers, prepared reconciliations, and monitored reports. Janella then worked as an Accountant at Doyon, Limited, performing various accounting functions for government and non-government contracts.

In 2007, Janella held the role of a Temporary Grant Accountant at the American Academy of Pediatrics, where they handled multiple federal and non-federal grants. Janella also worked as a Staff Accountant at ISACA, where they performed collection efforts and reconciled accounts receivable.

Janella then transitioned to Kelly Financial Resources, where they served as a Temporary Financial Analyst at Johnson Controls, Inc. Here, they spearheaded the Capital Acquisitions and Purchasing function and ensured accurate capital asset inventory and data management.

In 2013, Janella worked as an Accountant at Alaska Renovators, Inc., where they handled invoice entry, bank statement reconciliation, and quarterly sales tax and payroll reporting in Quickbooks.

From 2016 to 2022, Janella worked at the City of Lynnwood, where they held various roles such as Capital Asset/Grant Accountant, Budget Coordinator, Accounting Manager, and Finance Supervisor. Their responsibilities included preparing grant reports, conducting financial analysis, and supervising accounting staff.

Currently, Janella serves as the Finance Director at the City of Mountlake Terrace, a position they have held since 2022.

Throughout their career, Janella has demonstrated strong financial and accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to supervise and train others.

Janella Lewis, CPA pursued their education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from 1994 to 2007. During this time, they successfully completed their Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Accounting.
