Rosa Akhtarkhavari is the current Chief Information Officer at City of Orlando. Rosa has over 25 years of experience in the IT field.

Ms. Akhtarkhavari started their career as a teacher at Yarmouk University Model School where they taught calculus, introduction to computing, and programming languages. Rosa also oversaw the Student Computer lab, software selection and staff training. In 1988, they left teaching to take on a position as a part-time staff member at Florida State University - CPD where they assisted in planning and registration for international conferences hosted by FSU.

In 1991, Ms. Akhtarkhavari became a technical consultant at Professional Solutions where they provided post-sale technical support for the deployment of small-medium business financial and billing packages. Rosa remained in this role until 1992 when they accepted their current position as Chief Information Officer at City of Orlando.

Rosa Akhtarkhavari has a computer science degree from Florida State University and a BS in computer science from Jami'at Al-Yarmouk.
