Melissa Sullinger Mpa

Melissa Sullinger, MPA, SHRM-SCP has a wealth of experience in the public sector. Melissa has held various roles in multiple cities, including Assistant Director Of Human Resources and Risk Manager at the City of Pearland, Texas since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as Risk Manager at the City of Waco, TX from 2014 to 2018 and Director of Human Resources at the City of Mansfield, Texas from 2011 to 2014. Melissa also has experience as a Risk Manager at the City of Baytown, TX from 2005 to 2011, Sr. Loss Prevention Specialist at the City of Plano from 2004 to 2005, and Risk Manager at the City of Allen from 2001 to 2004. Their career in the public sector began as a Safety Specialist at Plano ISD from 1996 to 2001.

Melissa Sullinger, MPA, SHRM-SCP, has a strong education background in various fields. Melissa completed their Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a specialization in the Public Sector at Texas Tech University from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, Melissa pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections at the University of North Texas, where they studied from 1999 to 2002. In 1992 to 1995, they attended the University of Houston, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Hygiene and Safety.

Moreover, Melissa has obtained professional certification as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in February 2023.
