Robert D. Smith has extensive experience in local government and public administration. Serving as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Perry, GA, since February 2018, Robert collaborates with elected officials and city staff to enhance community services and operations. Previously, Robert directed the Economic Development Department from October 2014 to February 2018. Robert's earlier roles include Senior Government Services Specialist and Government Services Specialist at the Middle Georgia Regional Commission, providing technical assistance to local governments and organizations between June 2010 and October 2014. Robert began their career with an internship in 2009 at the City of Madison, Georgia, and holds both a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Georgia.
