Josie B. H. Pickens

Josie B. H. Pickens, Esq.'s work experience begins in 2006 as a Media Intern at Wayne County Community College. In 2008, they worked as an Intern at Community Legal Services. Josie then became an Office Assistant at Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law in 2009. Josie B. H. joined Community Legal Services again in 2010 as an Independence Foundation Public Interest Law Fellow, later transitioning to the role of Staff Attorney and then Supervising Attorney. From 2017 to 2021, Josie served as the Co-Director of the Energy Unit and as a Deputy Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at Community Legal Services. Josie B. H. is currently working at the City of Philadelphia as the Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer, managing operations, providing policy guidance, and overseeing support to various offices and departments.

Josie B. H. Pickens, Esq. obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law in 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley from 2001 to 2005. Josie B. H. received their high school diploma from Overbrook High School in 2001.
