Kathy Shuyun Tian

Kathy Shuyun Tian has a diverse work experience in various industries. Kathy Shuyun currently holds the position of Managing Director of External Affairs & Strategic Initiatives at City Year, starting in July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President of Government Client Services at Deep Labs from October 2021 to December 2022. Before joining Deep Labs, Kathy worked at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in different roles including Principal, Project Leader, and Consultant from 2017 to 2021. Kathy Shuyun also served as a Board Member at Livernois SOUP from March 2014 to July 2018. Kathy has additional experience as a Summer Consultant at Boston Consulting Group, an Account Advocate at CDK Global, and as the Integrated Marketing Director at Cornerstone Charter Schools. Kathy Shuyun was also a Fellow at Challenge Detroit, a Corps Member at City Year Detroit, and had an internship as a Social Media and Sales Intern at Consult-PRO Dental Education.

Kathy Shuyun Tian completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with emphases in Strategy and Marketing at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from the University of Toronto between 2007 and 2011. Additionally, Kathy participated in a student exchange program at Fudan University in 2009-2010, focusing on Sociology as well.
