We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Representative (BDR) Manager to lead our inside sales team and uncover opportunities to support colleges and universities. This role is critical to driving our sales pipeline and ensuring sustainable revenue growth for Civitas Learning. The BDR Manager will be responsible for developing and executing robust sales strategies, managing and coaching the BDR team, and driving consistent and effective prospecting efforts. 

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong track record in B2B sales, has a passion for coaching and developing talent, has exceptional organizational skills, and is skilled in data-driven decision-making.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of BDRs, fostering a high-performance, goal-oriented culture.
  • Design, build, and iterate on effective prospecting plays, including email campaigns, call scripts, and social selling strategies to achieve and exceed weekly, quarterly, and yearly pipeline goals.
  • Develop the sales, product, and industry skills of each team member.
  • Track key performance metrics, including activity levels, conversion rates, and pipeline growth.
  • Analyze team performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, opportunities for optimization, and data-driven recommendations for strategy adjustments.
  • Develop and implement strategies for operational excellence - refine processes, prospecting strategies, and team performance to drive better results.
  •  Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging best practices to ensure the team remains agile and competitive.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure alignment across goals and understanding of product offerings and customer needs
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new BDRs, ensuring a smooth transition into the team

About You:

  • 2+ Years' experience leading a BDR team. (Bonus if SaaS and/or higher ed experience in a fast-paced startup environment)
  • 2+ years of experience as a BDR or in B2B sales
  • Feel a deep sense of ownership, accountability, pride, and passion for your work
  • Are strategic enough to build a team, but tactical enough to execute on a day-to-day basis
  • Proven, consistent achievement of goals through the leadership and motivation of a team, and as an individual contributor
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies and prospecting strategies in a B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated success in client acquisition through cold outreach, and a proven track record of creating content and messaging that generates pipeline for the business.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate short-term targets (e.g., quarterly targets).
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, and the ability to build cross-functional relationships.
  • Experience with CRM and sales engagement tools  (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, etc.).
  • Experience hiring, developing, and retaining talent.

The salary for this position is $100,000 base and $40-60,000 variable.
