Abhinav Anne (He/Him)

Director of Research at Climate Cardinals

Abhinav Anne is an award-winning and passionate social entrepreneur, youth advocate, and biological sciences researcher. He leads several environmental initiatives in organizations including YOUNGO, the Climate Reality Project, Climate TRACE, and the World Wildlife Federation. As the National Research & Policy Coordinator of Fridays For Future US and Director of the Chicago Climate Youth Coalition, he works to empower youth in his region to address societal issues in their local communities. Abhinav also leads climate education opportunities through engaging lessons, stories, and videos at the Children’s Kindness Network impacting over 1,000 schools worldwide. As a United Nations youth delegate, Abhinav serves on the leadership team at the Chicago Chapter focusing on the Global Goals of Good Health and Well-being and Climate Action as a Global Goals ambassador.

Within Climate Cardinals, he serves as the Director for Research and the Chapters Specialist, bridging literacy gaps by uniting youth chapters and conducting research to promote worldwide collaboration in the fight against climate change. At Climate Cardinals, he aims to improve worldwide engagement in climate science and address systemic issues including environmental racism, equality, and disparities in developing and developed countries alike.

Abhinav currently conducts research at the American Public Health Association and serves as a Board Member and Secretary at the APHA’s Research Committee, where he collaborates with members to identify, review, and prioritize research projects and initiatives that align with APHA’s research objectives. In this role, he also coordinates with researchers to compile reports, abstracts, and presentations for dissemination to APHA and its external stakeholders. Abhinav pursues his interest in public health as the Founder and Executive Director of Panacea, a youth-led 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to decreasing language barriers in the fields of public health and medicine. He has been recognized for his research by several agencies and regulatory bodies including 3M, Discovery Education, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the U.S. Department of Education, the United Nations, and EXPLR. As a Freelance Journalist, he has authored pieces for outlets including the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times, USA Today, The Teen Magazine, and UNICEF, hoping to use the power of journalism to shed light on climate injustices, environmental issues, public health initiatives, and legislative policies.
