Jose Ruiz is an accomplished Executive Chef Partner with extensive experience in the culinary industry. Currently, Ruiz serves as Executive Chef Partner for multiple esteemed outlets under Clique Hospitality, including Lionfish and Poolhouse in Pendry San Diego, as well as Serea in The Hotel Del Coronado. Since October 2016, Ruiz has held the position of Executive Chef & Partner at Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine, the flagship restaurant of the Pendry brand, and has contributed as Executive Chef and Partner for Serea since October 2018. Prior experience includes roles as Chef De Cuisine at CH Projects, Inc. for Ironside Fish and Oyster, Executive Chef at Herringbone after overseeing the opening at Searsucker, and as Sous Chef at The Oceanaire Seafood Room. Jose Ruiz began culinary education at the San Diego Culinary Institute, earning a diploma in Hospitality Administration/Management.
