Robert Alster

Robert Alster has extensive work experience in the asset management industry. Robert started their career at British Coal and Fleming Investment Management as an Energy Analyst and UK Capital Goods Analyst, respectively. Robert then joined American Express and UBS as a Pan-European Capital Goods Equity Analyst and Global Capital Goods Equity Sector Head, respectively. Later on, they worked at AllianceBernstein as the Head of European & UK Growth Equity Team & Equity Research, where they also served as a Pan-European Capital Goods Equity Analyst. Robert was appointed as the Global Equity Sector Head for Industrial Cyclicals at AllianceBernstein managing a significant portfolio. Currently, they hold multiple roles at Close Brothers Asset Management, including the Chief Investment Officer position, the Inaugural Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, the Head of Investment Services, and previously served as the Head of Research.

Robert Alster has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Diploma in Marketing from Cranfield School of Management, which they obtained in 1990-1991. Robert also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy (MA (Hons) 2.1) from The University of Edinburgh, which they completed in 1980-1984. In addition, they obtained an Associate certification from the Institute of Investment Management and Research in 1994.
