Meritxell Tarres has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. They currently hold the position of Senior Regional HR Manager - EMEA at Cloudbeds, where they are responsible for managing HR operations in Spain, Italy, and Ireland. Prior to this role, they served as the HR Manager for the same company.

Before joining Cloudbeds, Meritxell worked at Lucas Fox International Properties as an HR Manager. During their tenure, they played a crucial role in establishing and developing the HR department from scratch. They focused on employee engagement, performance, profitability, and growth for all companies in the group.

They also have experience working as an Operations and Human Resources Manager for an organic, vegetarian restaurant chain in Barcelona. In this role, they provided strategic and operational support, ensuring the efficiency and profitability of the restaurants.

Meritxell's early career includes roles at the World Trade Organization, where they worked as a Translator and Conference Coordinator, and at HCC Global Financial Products, a subsidiary of HCC Insurance Holding. At HCC, they served as the Human Resources Manager for Spain and the UK, as well as the Human Resources Assistant, contributing to day-to-day operations and recruitment.

They began their career as a PA to the IT Director at AXA.

From 1994 to 1998, Meritxell Tarres pursued a Degree in Translation and Interpretation English-French-Spanish-Catalan at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

In 1999 and 2000, they obtained a TEFL Diploma (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) from the Institute of Culture, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain.

From 2001 to 2001, Meritxell Tarres completed a Prevention of Labour Risks Course (30 hours) at Asepeyo, Barcelona, Spain.

In 2002 and 2003, they pursued an M.A. in Human Resources from EAE Business School.

In 2005, Meritxell Tarres attended a seminar on the Reinforcement of Corporate Values and Culture at UAB, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain.

From 2008 to 2010, they completed a European Masters Degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology at UAB, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain.

In 2016, Meritxell Tarres acquired knowledge in Compensation and Benefits by attending a course at CEF Centro de Estudios Financieros.

In 2018, they obtained certification as a Workplace Big Five Personality Profile from HUCAMA.

Meritxell Tarres acquired additional certifications, including the ICAgile Certified Professional - Agile talent (ICP-TAL) certification from ICAgile in December 2019, and the Senior Professional in Human Resources - International (SPHRi) certification from HRCI in March 2020.
