Shiqiu Xiong has a diverse work experience in various research and leadership roles. They worked at Clover Biopharmaceuticals as a Project Lead starting in 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Researcher at LGC from 2019 to 2021, where they managed multiple cell biology projects, published papers and posters, and gave talks at conferences. They were a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Leicester from 2014 to 2018, focusing on B cell projects, supervising junior scientists, and publishing papers, posters, and giving talks. Before that, they were a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, where they characterized uterine NK cells and supervised undergraduate students. They also worked as a Visiting Scientist at the University of Oxford, investigating NK cell activation. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Lecturer and Deputy Director at Sun Yat-sen University, leading a team and teaching students, and at Wuhan Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd. as a Quality Assurance Specialist.
Shiqiu Xiong holds a PhD in Immunology from Sun Yat-sen University, which was completed from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Immunology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, which was completed from 1998 to 2001. They also hold a Bachelor's degree in Community Health and Preventive Medicine from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, which was completed from 1990 to 1995.
