We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Real Estate Acquisition to join our senior leadership team to drive our growth and the achievement of our business goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing the acquisition strategy, identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities, and ensuring the successful negotiation and closing of transactions. In addition to the duties typically expected of a finance executive, the successful incumbent will also,

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive acquisition strategy aligned with CLV’s goals and objectives.

  • Identify, analyze, and pursue new real estate investment opportunities.

  • Create and maintain a strong multi-family real estate acquisitions and development pipeline.

  • Conduct market research and due diligence to assess potential acquisitions.

  • Prepare research reports on location by analyzing demographic, growth opportunities, city planning and regulations, rental data, sales data and any other relevant information.

  • Identify opportunities and oversee business growth strategy for undervalued properties in target cities and neighborhoods, with a current primary focus on multi-family real estate opportunities.

  • Lead diligence process for effective qualification and underwriting of multiple concurrent projects/opportunities.

  • Lead and manage negotiations, contract discussions, and closing processes. Negotiate and structure real estate transactions that mitigate risk and create significant value for CLV.

  • Create and manage internal underwriting process to approve deals and keep executive team informed.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless transaction execution.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, investors, and other key stakeholders.

  • Continue to create and refine asset class acquisitions strategy to further grow the CLV Group portfolio.

  • Monitor and report on the performance of acquired properties and investments.

  • Use CRM to track communications, contacts, and deals in progress.

  • Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.

  • Developing CLV’s industry profile by being a highly visible and respected industry and brand champion.

Qualifications:

  • +/- 10 years of experience in real estate acquisition, investment, or related field, ideally with large multi-family real estate.

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Designation is an asset (CPA, CFA, AACI).

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and closing complex real estate transactions.

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including debt instruments.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key industry players.

  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.

We are an in-office crew 5 days a week.  We sometimes work late to make sure we meet our deliverables, so the ability to work flexible and irregular hours is required. However, we do respect your work/life balance (we even manage to squeeze it all into a 4.5-day work week in the summer months).
