CLYNK is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Manager to join our team! We are a fast paced recycling and technology company recognized for being innovators and leaders in our industry.  We are the fastest growing mode of beverage container recycling and the most requested option by consumers. Our patented technology supports recycling at scale across an entire ecosystems, including states with Deposit Recovery Systems (aka Bottle Bills). We operate over 100 "bag-drop" depots across Maine and New York, with processing facilities located in Biddeford and Oakland, Maine, as well as Scotia, New York. CLYNK's popularity and demand continues to result in growth into new markets and new states. Your contributions will substantially impact our ability to maintain operations and drive new growth. 

The Maintenance Manager is critical to our success and plays a key role in the safety, productivity, and process-driven systems of our operation. The Manager is responsible for all maintenance activities across all Maine and New York processing facilities and across depot locations with daily oversight of the Maintenance Team.  Those with previous experience in lean manufacturing, production, and other fast paced industrial settings will have the most success. Experience with conveyor belts, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems is a plus. 

Key Details:

  • Full-time year-round position

  • Benefit eligible after only a 30 day waiting period

  • 401k eligible with company matching up to 4% after a 90 day waiting period

  • Competitive salary with Quarterly Bonus Plan

  • Monday-Friday work schedule. Specific daytime hours, with the specific start and end times, to be determined with the candidate during the in-person interview process. Additional availability is required to manage emergencies and other business demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance tasks: Overseeing the upkeep, repairs, and installations of buildings, offices, grounds, and company vehicles

  • Inspections: Performing inspections to identify problems and make repairs

  • Maintenance procedures: Designing and implementing maintenance procedures, ensuring they adhere to safety regulations, and ensuring they are completed on time

  • Maintenance team: Supervising maintenance technicians, serving as a liaison between the maintenance team and the rest of the organization, and advocating for the department's needs

  • Budgets and expenses: Tracking budgets and expenses

  • Emergencies: Responding to maintenance emergencies

  • Productivity and costs: Looking for ways to improve productivity and cut costs

  • Policies and procedures: Developing company policies and standard operating procedures

  • Technology: Using mobile technology and software solutions

  • Orders and maintains all supplies and equipment

  • Forecasting and strategic planning for upgrades and overhauls

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering is preferred
  • 10+ years leading a maintenance team in fast paced industrial environment
  • Able to manage a staff of up to 15 people
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead well, while also performing tasks yourself as needed
  • Good mechanical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge/background in Preventive Maintenance with demonstrated ability to implement and maintain a PM program
  • Able to gain the respect and trust of the staff
  • Able to keep people motivated and productive
  • Attention to detail – able to make sure all work is done correctly
  • Self-directed – able to work quickly with minimal supervision
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Effective communication skills – good team player
  • Able to work weekend and/or evening shifts as needed
  • Must be dependable and arrive on time
  • Have great hand/eye coordination
  • Able to lift 30 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Able to work on your feet for several hours at a time
  • Able to bend, twist, push, pull, bend, squat, lift, kneel, climb, and reach

Additional Requirements:

  • Pre-employment screening: must be able to successfully pass a background check including Motor Vehicle Record

  • Travel: this could be a travel heavy position depending on the business development needs as CLYNK expands into new markets, in addition to minimum quarterly trips to our corporate office in South Portland, ME; anticipated travel up to 25%.
