Craig W. Johnson

Craig W. Johnson has a diverse work experience that spans several industries and roles. Craig W. began their career at Addison Wesley, where they served as a Production Technologist, specializing in the production of college textbooks. Craig W. also provided IT support for the company.

Johnson then joined Direct Language Communications as an IT Manager, overseeing a three-person IT group and managing workflow design. After the company merged with International Communications and was later acquired by Lionbridge, Johnson continued to troubleshoot publishing problems and make purchasing decisions.

Johnson worked at International Communication/INTL.com/Lionbridge as an R&D/Tool Support tech, providing technical support and developing in-house tools. Craig W. also served as a global support tech and wrote data parsers.

Johnson's self-employment began in 2001 as a freelance/contract DTP and Engineering specialist. Craig W. worked with clients such as Addison Wesley and Elsevier in book production, as well as localization DTP for companies like LUZ and Lionbridge. Alongside their wife, Simmy Cover, Johnson worked from home on multilingual projects.

Craig W. also had various contract roles, including a contract multilingual publisher position at Localize Technologies and a QC and proofreader role at LUZ, where they produced multilingual datasheets, manuals, and advertising collateral.

Johnson's non-profit experience includes being a Member of the Board of Directors for the Country Dance and Song Society.

Craig W.'smost recent position was at the California Medical Association, where they held the roles of Technical Editor and Director of Legal Publications.

Craig W. Johnson began their formal education in 1969 at Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto. After successfully completing high school, they went on to attend the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1972 to 1979. During their time at the university, they pursued a degree in Classical Studies and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA).
