Parisa Kloss is an accomplished urban planning professional with extensive experience in climate change and sustainable development. As the CEO and Founder of SmartSylvan since April 2024, Kloss has also been a Partner of the World Urban Campaign at UN-Habitat since January 2022, and serves as a Senior Technical Expert for the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure since July 2021. In addition, Kloss has contributed as an Urban Climate Change Consultant at the Global Urban Studies Institute (GLOBUS) since September 2016 and has held a guest lecturer position at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since the same year. Kloss founded and leads Resilient Urban Planning and Development (RUPD) GbR, active since August 2013. Previous roles include urban studies researcher at the Center for Architecture and Urban Studies and Research in Iran and part-time lecturer at Qazvin Azad University from 2005 to 2008. Kloss holds a PhD in Urban Climate Change Planning from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and completed postdoctoral research at Freie Universität Berlin. Educational background also includes a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Architecture from Azad University.
