Nate Barbettini

CTO & Co-founder at Cobbler

Nate Barbettini has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Nate started their career as a Tutor at Academics Plus, assisting high school and college students with math subjects and computer science courses. Nate then worked as a Math Teacher at HCCH, teaching various math subjects to high school students.

In 2010, Nate joined Bold Computer Repair as a Support Technician, providing on-site computer troubleshooting and repair for both home and business users. Nate gained expertise in virus and malware removal, hardware diagnostics, network setup, and system upgrades.

In 2011, Nate co-founded Revelry Productions, where they were responsible for video and audio production, post-production, and technical/IT tasks. Nate successfully delivered high-quality products within budget and wearing multiple hats in a small team.

Nate joined Netchemia, a PeopleAdmin Company, in 2014 as a Software Engineer. Nate led engineering on a new B2B product, utilizing novel approaches such as adopting AWS PaaS, introducing microservices, and advocating for API-first design.

In 2015, Nate joined Stormpath, which later merged with Okta, as a .NET Team Lead and Developer Advocate. Nate'srole involved building Stormpath's presence in the .NET community and advocating for a cloud-native identity platform. Nate also played a crucial role in organizing and speaking at Okta's first developer conference.

At Okta, Nate took on the role of Product Manager in 2018. Nate led the Developer Experience team, doubling its size to over 15 engineers. Nate collaborated with executives and stakeholders to develop metrics and KPIs and introduced new methods of user testing to guide roadmap decisions. Nate also organized cross-functional work groups to address challenges.

Most recently, in 2019, Nate co-founded Cobbler, Inc., where they serve as the CTO.

From 2009 to 2012, Nate Barbettini attended Thomas Edison State University, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
