Lane Shackleton has extensive work experience in the fields of product management, design, and sustainability. Lane began their career in 2003 as a Site Manager and Guide for Alaska Mountain Guides and Climbing School. In 2004, they co-led and created Building a Sustainable Sewanee, where they co-authored the University's new "Policy for Sustainability" and "Green Living" handbook. In 2005, they worked as a Natural Resource Officer for Sustainable Futures Australia, researching and producing literature reviews for local government clients. In 2006, they worked as a Product Specialist I and Account Associate for Google AdWords. From 2008-2015, they held various positions at Google and YouTube, including Group Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Product Manager III, Product Manager II, and Product Manager I. During this time, they helped advertisers buy and build their businesses with video ads, and took several monetization products from 0 advertisers to tens of thousands. Lane also co-founded two wine labels, Miracle One and Bluebird, at Home Team Wines LLC. Most recently, they held the role of Head of Product & Design at Coda.
Lane Shackleton attended The University of the South from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a BA in Environmental Studies: Natural Resources. In 2003, they attended School for International Training (SIT) for Conservation and Resource Management. In 2005, they attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business for a Certificate in Summer Institute - General Management.
