Code in the Schools
Sharae Felder is an experienced educator and consultant specializing in computer science education. Since July 2020, Sharae has contributed to the Maryland Center for Computing Education, focusing on curriculum development and alignment with Maryland Computer Science Standards. In addition, Sharae has served as the Instructional Manager at Code in the Schools since August 2015, overseeing computer science programs and delivering professional development for instructors. Other roles include Computer Science Instructor and Curriculum Designer at Code in the Schools, where Sharae has worked to expand computer science learning opportunities for underserved youth in Baltimore. Sharae also has experience with Code.org as a facilitator and previously held positions with Reading Partners and UPS, highlighting a strong background in education and employee training. Sharae holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Maryland.

Code in the Schools is a Baltimore City based non-profit whose mission is to expand access to computer science education to under-served and under-represented youth. We achieve this through a three pronged approach; in-school programs, out-of school programs, and professional development for educators.
