Margie Borra-Garske has extensive experience in the field of protein engineering. Margie began their career at Oregon Health & Science University as a Graduate Research Fellow from August 2000 to August 2003. Following that, they worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they held roles as an NIH-NRSA Graduate Research Fellow from August 2003 to August 2005, and later as an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellow from September 2005 to September 2008. Since 2008, Margie has been working at Codexis, Inc., starting as a Scientist I from October 2008 to December 2011, then progressing to Scientist II from January 2012 to February 2016. Margie further advanced to the positions of Senior Scientist and Project and Technical Lead from March 2016 to March 2021, and eventually became an Associate Director of Protein Engineering from March 2021 to the present.
Margie Borra-Garske's education history includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Oregon Health & Science University, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. Margie then pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned a Ph.D. in Biomolecular Chemistry from 2003 to 2005. Margie Borra-Garske later became a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2005 to 2008.
