Uttam Rai

Uttam Rai has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Uttam started their career as an Associate Sales Executive at DCM Data Products in 1990. Uttam then worked as a Business Development professional at CMC Limited from 1991 to 1996. Later, at C-Datacom International, they served as a Business Manager, focusing on sales of VSAT-based IPLC services between India and EMEA/USA, as well as managing strategically important accounts.

In 1999, Uttam joined AT&T, where they held the role of Business Manager. Uttam was responsible for leading the in-country Cross Functional team, providing Life Cycle Account Management support to AT&T's largest customer. Additionally, they managed the Sales co-ordinator, providing backend sales support to the Sales team in South India.

Following their time at AT&T, Uttam joined AT&T Communication Services India Pvt Limited, where they served as a Business Manager. Here, they continued their responsibilities in account management support, pre-sales engagement, solution design, service delivery, operations support, and receivables management.

Uttam then joined Sprint in 2007 and held various roles, including Sales Director - India, where they were responsible for managing the India Sales Team and selling managed global network services to enterprises. Uttam also played a crucial role in developing regional sales strategies in alignment with the company's global sales strategy. Additionally, they provided strategic inputs for planning and developing infrastructure and resources to support business growth.

Later, Uttam became the CEO of Sprint Telecom India Private Limited in 2011, overseeing the company's operations and management.

Their most recent role is the Director of Sales at Cogent Communications, starting in 2023.
