Sunki Bodiford

Sunki (Alex) Bodiford, CISSP-ISSMP, has a comprehensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity spanning over 12 years. Sunki (Alex)'smost recent role was as a Cyber Defense Incident Responder - Lead at Cognosante since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Cyber Threat Analyst at the same company from January 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining Cognosante, Sunki worked as a Cyber Security Engineer at Goldbelt, Incorporated from July 2020 to January 2021. Sunki (Alex) also served as a Sr. Cyber Security Engineer II (ISSO) at Raytheon from September 2018 to July 2020.

Prior to Raytheon, Sunki worked as a Sr. Cyber Analyst at The Buffalo Group from March 2017 to August 2018. Sunki (Alex) also held positions as an Infomation/Cyber Security Analyst at General Dynamics Information Technology from October 2015 to March 2017, and as a Cyber Incident Analyst at Booz Allen Hamilton from May 2015 to September 2015.

Sunki began their career as a Cyber Incident Analyst at Northrop Grumman Corporation in February 2010 and worked there until May 2015. During their time at both Booz Allen Hamilton and Northrop Grumman Corporation, Sunki was responsible for monitoring intrusion detection and security information management systems to detect malicious activity on U.S. Army command and control networks using various tools and technologies.

Sunki (Alex) Bodiford, CISSP-ISSMP, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2003. In terms of certifications, they obtained the CISSP from (ISC)² in 2016, and ISSMP from (ISC)² in 2019. Additionally, they hold several other certifications, including ITIL Foundations Certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2023, and various certifications from CompTIA, GIAC, NETSCOUT, Tanium, and EC-Council in the years 2011 to 2018.
