Estimated Salary: $170,000 - $180,000

 

Job Summary:

Cohen & Steers is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial professional to lead Product Management efforts for our Preferred Securities business line, focusing on enabling growth of the asset class through proactive distribution support and innovation. This will include enhancing product positioning for new and existing strategies, competitive analysis, proactively driving growth of existing strategies through our distribution channels, responding to custom sales opportunities and researching new strategies. In addition, the individual will manage the product line to ensure product features remain competitive and serve as a subject matter expert to resolve distribution questions and issues that arise. This individual will serve as the product line champion, engaging across the organization to set and clearly articulate priorities, while delivering results. This includes supporting multiple wrappers (e.g. open-end funds and listed closed- end funds, SMAs and UCITs) and channels for the asset class. Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Grow the product line by proactively engaging and supporting sales in competitive positioning, sales ideas, and product related questions to increase share in existing channels and better penetrate existing markets. Support marketing in developing messaging, content, and campaigns.
  • Manage the product line by ensuring product features continue to remain competitive and make enhancements as appropriate (e.g. pricing, investment parameters, etc.) Address internal and external product-related issues as they arise, serving as the focal point to resolve any issues on a timely and effective basis.
  • Support custom sales opportunities and develop new strategies, including product design and positioning. Collaborate with Investments, Distribution, Product Development & Strategy, and key functional partners to ensure effective execution. This includes both the US Wealth, US Institutional and non-US markets.
  • Engage in regular planning efforts with the Investment, Distribution and Marketing teams to align on priorities and required support for the product line. Communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends that impact the product line, including threats to existing strategies and opportunities for growth.
  • Engage with partners within Product and across the firm to ensure successful support on all aspects of the product offering.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • 8+ years of investment industry experience. Prior Product Management experience in Preferred Securities or Taxable Fixed Income is required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience required; MBA and/or CFA a plus
  • FINRA Series 7 license (or willingness and ability to obtain within three months)
  • Ability to operate independently and leverage resources across the organization to deliver results
  • Ability to proactively collaboratively across departments to achieve team objectives
  • Confidence to present to senior audiences
  • Strong written, analytical and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects on a timely basis
  • Minimal travel required
