Jim Tavares

Jim Tavares is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in security solutions and telecommunications. Currently serving as Senior Director of Security Solutions at Cohesity, Tavares drives the development of customer data security solutions, focusing on comprehensive security throughout the customer lifecycle. Prior to Cohesity, Tavares held the position of Director, Telco Cloud Deployment at VMware, where responsibilities included managing transformative 5G core and RAN deployments. Tavares also enjoyed a long tenure at Cisco, where various roles included Strategy, Planning, and Operations Director for the Service Provider channel business, and leadership in product and program management for IMS platforms. Tavares began the career with Dynamicsoft, Inc. and Lucent Technologies, excelling in product management and competitive intelligence. Academically, Tavares holds an MBA in Management and Marketing from Rutgers University and both MSE and BSE degrees in Systems Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
