Gaurav Garg has held a variety of roles in the engineering industry since 2000. Gaurav began their career as an Intern at IBM India Research Labs in 2000, followed by Summer Internships at Hebrew University, Nvidia, and Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs. In 2006, they became Vice President of Engineering at Google, where they led the Search Ads Quality team and was instrumental in Google's transition from desktop to mobile. In 2018, they moved to Uber, where they served as Vice President of Engineering and Engineering Lead for Mobility, leading the flagship rider app, driver app, and marketplace. In 2021, Garg was appointed Head of Engineering at CoinTracker.

Gaurav Garg obtained their BTech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi between 1997 and 2001. Gaurav then went on to Stanford University for their PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering, which they completed between 2001 and 2006.
