Jacob Hernandez has a diverse work experience starting in 2017 as a Summer Engineering Tech at the Texas Department of Transportation. In 2021, they became a Research and Teaching Assistant at St. Mary's University School of Law. Additionally, they held roles at The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Race and Social Justice, serving as a Staff Writer from August 2021 to June 2022, and currently as an Executive Editor since June 2022. Jacob also joined Cokinos | Young in 2022 as a Law Clerk.

Jacob Hernandez began their education in 2015 at Texas A&M International University, where they pursued pre-engineering studies. Jacob attended this institution until 2016. In 2017, Jacob enrolled at Texas A&M University, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 2019. Following this, in 2020, they began studying at St. Mary's University School of Law to pursue a Doctor of Law - JD degree, which they are expected to complete in 2023.

In addition to their academic achievements, Jacob has obtained various certifications to enhance their legal research skills. In August 2020, they earned the Essential Legal Research Certification from Thomas Reuters. In February 2021, they obtained several certifications, including Advanced Legal Research, Foundations of Effective Legal Research, Litigation Research, Prepare to Practice, and Transactional Law Certifications, all from Thomas Reuters. Jacob also obtained the LexisNexis Certification Part 1: Proficiency Certification in August 2020 and the LexisNexis Certification Part 2: Practice-Ready Certification in February 2021, both from LexisNexis.
