Rick Havrilla

Co-Founder & CTO at CollabraSpace

Rick Havrilla is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of CollabraSpace, a Software and Systems Engineering consulting company. As CTO, Mr. Havrilla is responsible for growing the business externally by delivering technical solutions to CollabraSpace clients. He accomplishes this by leveraging his 30 years of experience building enterprise solutions, fully engaging with their clients to understand their mission and requirements, and utilizing a world class team of professionals and technologies to meet and exceed their client’s objectives. Rick is an integral part of their world class program that starts with their CollabraSpace team of software and systems engineers and includes partners and vendor relationships. He is also responsible for the technologies that run the company’s internal operations and business procedures and for supporting business development activities.

Rick holds his B.S. in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. He is the co-author of Dynamic Collaboration: How to Share Information, Solve Problems, and Increase Productivity Without Compromising Security with Ray Schwemmer. Dynamic Collaboration demonstrates how leaders can harness the power of the web to tap into the collective intelligence of their organization. He has co-authored numerous articles on effectively using collaborative technologies in the workplace. Rick was awarded the 2011 SmartCXO award from Baltimore SmartCEO magazine recognizing executives from the Baltimore area who have gone above and beyond to support their organizations’ initiatives in the categories of CFO, COO, CIO/CTO and executive management teams.

Rick and his wife live in Maryland with their two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, friends and colleagues, the outdoors, running, mountain biking, and hiking.
