Andy Baker

Andy Baker has worked in a variety of roles across a number of companies since 1996. Andy began their career at United News & Media Inc in New York, where they served as Vice President of Corporate Development. In this role, they were responsible for strategy, including portfolio review presented to UN&M Board, and completed over 20 corporate transactions. From 2000-2005, they worked at Workthing.com, part of Guardian Media Group, where they served as Managing Director. Andy then moved to Trinity Mirror, where they held the role of Group Director of Online Recruitment from 2005-2008. In 2008, they became Group Managing Director of Friends Reunited Group, where they had full P&L responsibility for a highly profitable group. From 2010-2011, they were Acting CEO of High50, developing the user proposition, market entry strategy, and initial ecommerce partners. Andy then joined Ascential plc in 2011 as Managing Director of Public Sector and Health Service Journal, where they turned HSJ around from declining revenues and subscriber volumes. In 2017, they took on the role of Managing Director of The Lawyer at Centaur Media Plc, leading double-digit growth in corporate subscriptions. From 2020-2022, they worked at Collingwood Advisory Ltd as Director & Practice Lead for B2B Information, Senior Advisor, and Senior Advisor for Collingwood Advisory. Currently, they are a Non Executive Director at Faversham House.

Andy Baker attended University College, Oxford from 1984 to 1987, graduating with a BA Hons in Politics & Economics. Andy then went on to attend IMD in 1996, achieving an MBA in the same year.
