In 2022, CommentSold debuted its lightweight video commerce plugin technology, Videeo, which gives any retailer or brand the ability to embed and go live with engaging, branded live video commerce experiences within days by easily integrating into an existing e-commerce stack.

As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in our merchandising operations. Your responsibilities will include aiding in the development and implementation of merchandising strategies across different channels, collaborating closely with the site merchandising team to improve product visibility and increase sales performance, managing inventory and staying informed about the latest market trends.

This role is a fully remote position based in India. Preferably this person is based out of Mumbai or Bangalore. 

In this role, you will

  • Assist in developing site merchandising team to develop a merchandising plan 
  • Ensure all product selections align with each category's appropriate breadth, depth, and sizing opportunities
  • Write engaging and informative product descriptions that accurately convey the product
  • Follow merchandising best practices on manually selecting products 
  • Recognize and evaluate sales trends, highlight wins/misses, and identify sales opportunities to optimize sales by channel. 
  • Conduct thorough market research to stay ahead of industry trends and consumer behaviors. 
  • Provide detailed reports on sales performance against plans on a weekly basis.
  • Keep track of inventory positions and margin improvement

Requirement:

  • 1-2 years of experience in planning/buying, allocation, or merchandising 
  • Proficient in retail math: sell-through, WOS, Gross Margin, Inventory turn, etc.. 
  • Must have a strong knowledge of Excel: design and build reports from data spreadsheets 
  • Time management skills and the ability to complete tasks under short deadlines. 
  • A superb eye for attention to detail, style, and composition. 
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques and best practices. 
  • Self-driven and able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a remote team. 
  • Strong written communication skills for creating compelling product descriptions. 
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce trends, consumer behavior, and trend analysis techniques.
  • Must be able to flex at least 4 working hours to overlap with North American time zones; Requirement to work until 3:30pm EST (US).
