This is a hybrid role.  All finalists must have the ability to come to the office 3 times per week (Seattle, WA or Sunnyvale, CA).

The Role:

The Principal UX Designer, will relentlessly focus on improving the user experience of our customers & delight our users. As a Principal UX Designer, you will be the driving force behind our user research efforts. This is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated individual to shape and grow the UX research function from the ground up.  We’d like you to help lead, research, define, and improve end to end UX of our applications, while working with our customers and our product, marketing and technology teams. Let your passion for creating exceptional user experiences thrive. The Principal UX Designer, will also help bring in best practices, and research and design methodologies. Because of the critical nature of the role, we are looking for an experienced and well-respected candidate. 

What You'll Do:

  • Help define the overall UX vision for our applications. 
  • Mentor other designers and be a bar-raiser for quality of work.
  • Research & Analyze customer problems and oversee the design of delightful solutions that meet measurable business goals.
  • Work closely with product and business partners to develop a shared vision and lead a process to define and design experiences that deliver on those shared objectives.
  • Partner with technology teams to ensure we leverage the scale offered by our platform without compromising on core experience principles.
  • Present design work to partners and executive leadership for review, feedback, and sign-off.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of design experience. This role starts as an individual contributor but may develop to a managerial role for a UX team. 
  • Experience with best practices for User Experience Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design.
  • Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution.
  • Works closely with senior leadership to create strategic visions for the product and then deliver on those.
  • An inspiring portfolio that demonstrates experience managing design processes, leading UX design projects, crafting design systems, working through complex user flows that are functional, intuitive and visually compelling. 
  • Works with our designers to ensure we have a deep understanding of user needs and that their design solutions fit into a consistent product experience.
  • You are hands-on, partnering closely with other designers and/or engineering teams.
  • Work closely with Product and Insights to formulate clear design hypotheses & construct tests.
  • Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data.
  • Experience designing and prototyping with relevant tools.

Bonus Experience:

  • Experience with B2B, SaaS and analytical applications

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours.
  • Ability to come to the office 3 times per week (Seattle, WA or Mountain View, CA).

Compensation and Benefits: 

The typical base pay range for this role across the US is USD: $177,000 - $265,000/per year    

This base pay range may be inclusive of several career levels at CommerceIQ and will be narrowed based on a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.  

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at CommerceIQ. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock options, as well as potential discretionary bonuses.
