Shannon Martinez has a diverse work experience that spans several companies. Shannon began their career at Alcatel-Lucent as a Senior Network Implementation Engineer and Process Improvement Specialist. In this role, they were responsible for leading the Support Services organization's process improvement practice and overseeing a team of 100+. Shannon successfully implemented Lean Six Sigma and 5W methodology to streamline work processes and improve quality of service. Shannon also managed scheduling and queuing techniques to increase coverage and reduce headcount requirements. Shannon also acted as a Team Lead and Coach, motivating a 15-person team and providing technical and analytical guidance to customers.

After their time at Alcatel-Lucent, Shannon worked at HCL Technologies as a Project Manager. In this role, they are responsible for the application support of service territories utilizing ComEd's SCADA and IT Real-Time network. Shannon also plays a key role in project management tasks, such as planning, design, and implementation of new applications. Additionally, they instruct customers on the operation and maintenance of products and services provided by the Real-Time IT SCADA team.

Shannon Martinez holds a Master's degree in Science, specializing in Operations Management and Supervision, from Kettering University, which they completed in 2011. Shannon also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee State University, College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Sciences, which they completed between 1994 and 1999. Shannon has also completed a certificate program in ITIL from Global Knowledge in 2017. Additionally, Shannon has received training in Business Analysis, Agile/Scrum, and Six Sigma from Computer Training Source, Inc.
