Patrick Clarke has had a diverse work experience, with roles in academia and the industry. Patrick is currently working as a Principal Data Scientist at COMPASS Pathways since December 2021. Prior to this, they held positions as an Associate Professor at Drexel University, where they worked from September 2010 to January 2023. Patrick also worked as an Assistant Professor at Drexel University from September 2010 to August 2017. In 2020, they worked as a Quantitative Risk Developer at Interactive Brokers from April to December. Patrick has also held visiting professor positions at Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques - IHES from March 2019 to September 2019, Harvard University from September 2018 to May 2019, IHES from March 2013 to August 2013, and the Institute for Advanced Study from January 2008 to June 2008. Additionally, they were an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania from September 2007 to August 2010 and a CMI Graduate Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study from January 2007 to June 2007.

Patrick Clarke received their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. Patrick then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master's degree in Mathematics at the University of Miami from 2002 to 2007. After completing their PhD, they moved back to the University of Pennsylvania for a PostDoc in Mathematical String Theory from 2007 to 2010.
