Orpheus Mall has a diverse work experience. Orpheus started their career in 1993 as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, specializing in Aviation Life Support Systems. After completing their military service in 2000, they pursued an academic career and worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of California, Davis from 2004 to 2008.

Following their academic pursuits, Orpheus Mall delved into scientific research as a Graduate Research Scientist at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and the University of California, Davis. Orpheus'swork involved studying particle spectra and recreating conditions similar to those that existed after the Big Bang.

In 2012, Orpheus Mall transitioned into the tech industry and worked as a Senior Developer - Backend at Webconnex until 2014. From there, they joined Atlassian in 2014, where they held several roles over the years. As a Data Scientist and Lead, they built and deployed machine learning models, developed a Monte Carlo method for financial forecasting, and spearheaded projects related to customer success. Orpheus also played a significant role in preparing Atlassian for IPO.

Orpheus Mall's expertise in data science and machine learning continued to grow during their time at Atlassian, as they took on the role of Senior Data Scientist - Product Analytics and Data Science. Orpheus contributed to initiatives such as NLP for Product Feedback and the revamp of in-product instrumentation, working with cross-functional teams and leveraging tools like PySpark and TensorFlow.

In 2018, Orpheus Mall joined Conductor as a Principal AI Engineer, where they are currently employed. Prior to that, they briefly worked on a stealth AI startup in 2021, serving as a Machine Learning Engineer and Founder.

Orpheus Mall took personal time off for family and travel from 2019 to 2020 before resuming their professional career. With a background encompassing physics research, academia, software development, and data science, they bring a versatile skill set and a wealth of experience to their current role.

Orpheus Mall attended the University of California, Davis from 2002 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics. Orpheus further pursued their education at the same institution from 2004 to 2007, completing a Master's degree in Physics. From 2004 to 2012, Orpheus was a doctoral student at the University of California, Davis, specializing in the field of Ultra Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions - Nuclear Particle Physics. However, they did not complete their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
