Kyle Cunningham

Director Of Software Development at Confluence Technologies

Kyle Cunningham has a diverse and extensive work experience. Kyle started their career at US Steel as a Co-Op in the Human Resources Systems department, where they were responsible for software maintenance and development. Kyle then worked as a Technical Consultant at Lotter Shelly, LLC.

Cunningham joined Carnegie Mellon University as a Software Engineer, where they worked on various projects. Kyle was involved in the development and maintenance of a secure repository/web application at the PSLC DataShop. Kyle also worked on a static and dynamic website to support the QoLT research community at the Quality of Life Technology Center. In addition, they contributed to the development of the RADAR Test Harness.

After their time at Carnegie Mellon, Cunningham joined BNY Mellon and participated in their IT Leadership Development Program. Kyle gained experience in different areas of IT through rotations, including Treasury Services Systems - FLEX/GIS Integration. Kyle also served as a Technical Lead for the Foreign Exchange Trade Aggregator project.

Following their experience at BNY Mellon, Cunningham became an Adjunct Professor at Chatham University, where they taught courses.

Currently, they are the Director of Software Development at Confluence, where they have held various roles. Kyle started as a Scrum Master/Agile Project Manager, responsible for overseeing multiple project teams. Kyle then became a Program and Release Manager, ensuring the successful execution of software programs and projects. Later, they became the Manager of Global Technology Project Management, leading a team of Software and Technology Project Managers to ensure project success and promote Agile principles within the organization.

Kyle Cunningham earned a Dual B.S. degree in Computer Science & Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in the years 1999 to 2003. During this time, they also studied related areas in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Music. Kyle further pursued their education by obtaining an MSIT degree in Information Technology Management from Carnegie Mellon University from 2007 to 2009, earning the distinction of Highest Distinction. In addition to their formal education, Kyle also obtained several certifications. In 2011, they became a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute. Two years later, in 2012, they attained the Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certification. Lastly, in 2014, they received the Scrum Fundamentals Certified certification from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile.
