Robert Parotto has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Robert began their career in 1985 as a Product Designer at Imperial Eastman, where they developed new products for a hydraulic valve and fitting manufacturer. Robert then moved to Switchcraft Conxall, where they served as a Mechanical Engineer and later became the CAD Services Manager. In this role, they oversaw the installation and operation of the company's first CAD/CAM and PDM systems, leading a team responsible for ERP-based bill-of-materials creation, product configuration management, and CAD design services.
Afterwards, Parotto worked as a CAD Application Engineer at Computervision, providing post-sales technical consulting and assistance to customers using CADDS 4X and CADDS5 applications. Robert then joined RAND Worldwide as a PTC Reseller and Software Application Engineer, where they offered pre- and post-sales support for Pro/Engineer and Pro/Intralink software, including training and consulting services.
In 1994, Parotto joined Eaton Corporation as a CAE Analyst, developing and executing computer-aided engineering and PDM/PLM strategies. Robert also served as the Principal Product Designer and Proe Administrator, leading a mechanical design team and developing a patented electromechanical timer control for washing machines using Pro/Engineer software.
Parotto's next move was to Evinrude/Johnson Outboards Division, where they held the position of IT Engineering Applications Manager, CAE/PLM Systems & Technology. In this role, they led a team of application engineers, systems analysts, CAD designers, and external vendors and consultants. Robert was responsible for implementing strategies to drive business process improvement through technology, achieve key performance indicators, and reduce product time-to-market. Robert also spearheaded the integration of Windchill manufacturing process management and multiple ERP systems, as well as the integration of ThingWorx Operator Advisor with MES solution.
Most recently, Parotto worked as a CAD/PLM Engineer at Hunter Fan Company, leading a PLM-based digital transformation program for the global Consumer Packaged Goods organization. Their focus was on streamlining and optimizing business processes using the PTC Windchill PLM technology platform, aiming to improve competitive advantage and reduce new product development life cycle time.
Currently, Parotto holds the position of Director Engineering Systems at Consolidated Metco, starting in 2023. Additional details about this role, including specific responsibilities and duration, are not provided.
Robert Parotto holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industry & Technology from Northern Illinois University. Robert has also obtained a Certificate of PLM Leadership from CIMdata in 2013.
