J Scott Darcy Jr

J Scott Darcy Jr has had a diverse range of work experiences in the fields of UI/UX design and product management. J Scott is currently serving as the Manager of UI and UX at Context Labs BV. Prior to this role, they held the position of Lead UX Designer at the same company.

Before joining Context Labs BV, J Scott Darcy Jr worked at Intralinks as a Product Manager and a Sr. UX Designer. In the role of Product Manager, they collaborated with stakeholders to understand customer needs and converted them into requirements. J Scott also played a key role in project management through Scrum processes and prioritizing the backlog. As a Sr. UX Designer, they focused on delivering high-fidelity prototypes for user interface improvements and concept development.

J Scott Darcy Jr's previous experiences include working as a UX Designer at SDL plc, a UX Interaction Designer at Acquia, and a User Experience Design Associate (Contract) at EnerNOC. J Scott also gained experience as a Web Design Intern at J & A Communications, where they developed web design skills.

Earlier in their career, J Scott Darcy Jr worked as a V.A. and Records Office Clerk at San Diego Mesa College and served as an Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Petty Officer in the US Navy.

J Scott Darcy Jr's education history begins with their enrollment at San Diego Mesa College from 2006 to 2008, where they pursued their Associate of Arts degree in Transfer Studies. Following this, they attended UC San Diego from 2008 to 2011, earning their Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science and Human-Computer Interaction.

In addition to their formal education, Darcy Jr has also obtained several certifications. In February 2018, they completed the course on Human-Computer Interaction for User Experience Design from the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). J Scott further enhanced their skills by obtaining the Professional Scrum Product Owner 1 certification from Scrum.org in December 2018. Darcy Jr continued their professional development and acquired the Professional Scrum with UX 1 certification from Scrum.org in March 2019 and the Professional Scrum Master 1 certification in June 2019. J Scott also completed the UX Certificate Specialization in UX Management from the Nielsen Norman Group in July 2019. Their latest certifications occurred in February 2022 through IBM, where they became an Enterprise Design Thinking Co-Creator and an Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner.
