Julie Savage, PhD has worked in a variety of roles in the field of biology. From 2006-2008, they were a Research Associate at Children's Memorial Hospital. From 2008-2015, they were a Graduate Student at Case Western Reserve University. From 2015-2020, they were a Postdoctoral Scholar at Université Laval, where they studied the interaction of the brain's immune system with neuronal connections in health and disease, specializing in the role of microglia in Sepsis, Huntington's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease as well as normal neuronal development. Julie was awarded funding to study the role of microglia in neurodegenerative disease. In 2020, they became the Associate Director of Biology and Senior Scientist at Convelo Therapeutics, Inc.
Julie Savage, PhD received their Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from Case Western Reserve University between 2008 and 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University between 2002 and 2006.
