Software Engineer at Corigine

Annemie Potgieter's work experience began in 2016 at HealthQ Technologies, where they worked as a Digital Signal Processing Vocational worker. In this role, they compared the accuracy of heart rate measurements from different ECG and PPG devices.

In 2017, Annemie worked at Intelligent Desiccant Systems (Pty) Ltd as a Mechatronics Engineer Vocational worker. Their main focus was on desiccants used in shipping containers to regulate humidity. Annemie undertook various projects during their vacation work period to gain exposure to the company's operations.

In 2021, Annemie joined BioCODE Technologies as a Research and Development Engineer. Annemie conducted research and development for biosensors, specifically investigating Lateral Flow Assays (LFA) and electrochemical biosensors. Annemie was responsible for writing detailed protocols and maintaining diligent stocktaking.

In the same year, Annemie also worked as a Leaders in Innovation Fellow at the Royal Academy of Engineering and Oxentia. This year-long fellowship provided their with experience in pitching, business strategies, leadership, and skills in commercialization. Annemie received high-quality skills training with Oxentia and had the support of the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) as the in-country delivery partner.

Most recently, in 2022, Annemie started working as a Software Engineer at Corigine.

Annemie Potgieter completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Megatronical Engineering at Stellenbosch University from 2015 to 2018. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the same university, which they completed from 2019 to 2021.
