Gina Starnes

Director of Clinical Services at Cornwall Hospice Care

Gina Starnes is the Director of Clinical Services at Cornwall Hospice Care and has been in post since Feb 2019.

She's responsible for the nursing and therapy teams across both hospice sites and the Registered Manager for the Care Quality Commission who regulates the service. Gina is also the (joint) Accountable Officer for Controlled Drugs.

Gina is proud to have trained as a nurse in the Army and to have held a nursing qualification for 33 years. Throughout her career she always worked hard to support clinical teams to provide the best care possible to patients and families at the end of life.

She has worked at the Royal Marsden Hospital and was Director of Patient Services at St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley where she attained her Masters in Hospice Leadership and Management. Prior to working at Cornwall Hospice Care, Gina worked as End of Life Lead for Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group – which helped her no end with my Cornish geography!

Gina is married to Chris and they had moved to Cornwall to be closer to the Cornish branch of their family and also to enjoy the stunning scenery and opportunities that this wonderful part of the world offers.
