Yelena Avanesova

Creative Director at Coterie

Yelena Avanesova has extensive experience in the creative field. Yelena began their career in 2008 as an Editorial Designer for Nylon Magazine, where they created illustrations for the magazine and assisted the art department. In 2010, they began working as a Freelance Designer for TODA, where they worked on an exhibit for the AIGA. Later that same year, they became a Designer for Siegel+Gale, where they worked on world's leading brands and formed amazing friendships. In 2013, they joined Johnson & Johnson as a Senior Designer, Corporate Identity and created sustainability initiatives for the company. From 2015-2017, they worked as a Freelance Design Director for FutureBrand and Prophet. In 2018, they joined Kettle as a Creative Director, Design Director, and Freelance, where they collaborated with the creative team to develop brands through a digital and social lens, and create stories and content that connect people in real, authentic ways. Yelena also led a team of designers, art directors, editors and motion designers and oversaw all phases of creative work. In 2022, they became the Creative Director for Coterie.

Yelena Avanesova holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design - The New School.
