Omar al Amin

Omar Al Amin has extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. Omar is currently the Director of Finance at the County Government of Mombasa, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Assistant Director of Finance at the same organization starting in September 2017. From November 2016 to August 2017, they worked as the Chief Accountant. Before their time at the County Government, Omar worked as a Senior Accountant at the Mombasa County Public Service Board from October 2015 to October 2016.

Omar's earlier experience includes working as a Senior Operations Officer at Imperial Bank LTD from October 2012 to October 2015. Omar also interned at M K Mazrui & Associates in 2011 and worked part-time at the Essex County College Media Production and Technology Center from September 2010 to May 2011. Additionally, they participated in the Finance and Operations Bootcamp at Barclays Capital in 2011 and worked as a Summer Assist Agent (Dispatch) at Continental Airlines in 2010. Omar began their career as an Operation Officer at Family Bank Ltd from April 2008 to July 2008.

Omar Al Amin's education history includes obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Strategic Management from Kenyatta University in 2020. Omar also completed a Strategic Leadership Development Programme from the Kenya School of Government in 2017. Additionally, Omar attended the Kenya School of Government, where they pursued courses in Public Sector Financial Management and Senior Management in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in International Business and Finance from the United States International University - Africa from 2012 to 2014. In 2011, Omar attended Rutgers Business School for studies in Finance, and from 2009 to 2011, they obtained an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Essex County College. Earlier, in 2003 to 2006, Omar received their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education from The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, Kenya.

Omar has also acquired additional certifications. Omar completed the Senior Leadership Development Program from the Kenya School of Government's eLearning and Development Institute (eLDi). Furthermore, they obtained a Senior Management Course certification and completed a course in Public Sector Financial Management, both also from the Kenya School of Government's eLearning and Development Institute (eLDi).
