Derek Fisher

Derek Fisher is an experienced Water Resources Specialist with the County of Ventura, overseeing the construction, monitoring, and maintenance of weather-related sensors that integrate into the ALERT Flood Warning System for real-time flood monitoring. Prior to this role, Derek served as an Environmental Project Professional at Geosyntec Consultants, managing environmental compliance projects and leading multidisciplinary teams. Derek's career also includes roles as an English Language Instructor at Dangsan Jung Chul Academy, Environmental Compliance Specialist at Belshire Environmental Services, Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Veterans Affairs Hospital, and Product Compliance Specialist at Medtronic Neurosurgery. Derek holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara and has international experience from the Monteverde Institute in Costa Rica.
