Florian Schaefer

Florian Schaefer's work experience includes various roles in different companies. In 2010, they worked as a Working Student in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Jack Engineering GmbH. In 2011, they became a Research Assistant at RWTH Aachen University, where they worked on resource planning optimization and modeling of decentralized generation plants. Florian continued their research assistant position until 2014, specializing in high voltage technology and man-machine interaction. In 2014, they worked as a Working Student at P3. In 2015, they joined OMICRON electronics as a Project Engineer. From 2016 to 2020, Florian served as a Project Engineer and Ph.D. student at the University of Kassel, focusing on electrical network planning. In 2017, they worked as a Software Engineer at Steinbeis GmbH & Co. KG for Technology Transfer, where they conducted grid studies and analyzed energy efficiency. In 2020, Florian became a Consultant and Business Developer at Energiency, working on market analyses and development of partnerships. In 2021, they joined SoSafe Cyber Security Awareness as a Strategy/In-House Consultant, handling tasks such as financial analysis, project management, and data-driven decision-making. Currently, Florian is employed at Covariant, where they started as a Solutions Engineer in 2022 and has recently transitioned to the role of Customer Success Lead Europe in 2023.

Florian Schaefer completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Computer Engineering at RWTH Aachen University from 2010 to 2013. Florian then pursued their Master of Science in the same field at RWTH Aachen University from 2014 to 2016. Florian furthered their education by undertaking a Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Kassel from 2016 to 2020. Following that, from 2018 to 2021, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in the Science and Management Program at Collège des Ingénieurs.

Outside of formal education, Florian obtained several certifications including "Agile Project Management" and "Google Project Management: Specialization" from Coursera in June 2021, and "Deep Neural Networks with PyTorch" and "Machine Learning with Python" from Coursera in June 2020.
