Stefan Thewissen

Programme Lead On Wellbeing, Inclusion, And Sustainability ("brede Welvaart") at CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis

Stefan Thewissen has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Stefan is currently working as the Programme Lead on Wellbeing at the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis. In 2023, they will also be joining Pensioenfonds Zorg & Welzijn (PFZW) as a Trainee board member and SPO, a part of Nyenrode Business Universiteit, as a Docent executive pension programme. Previously, Stefan worked as an Economist at the OECD and as a Research Fellow at ODI. Stefan has also held roles as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, and a Consultant at the World Bank Group. Additionally, Stefan has experience as an External Consultant for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria and as a founding board member of the World Healthcare Forum.

Stefan Thewissen completed their education with a BSc in Public Administration from Radboud University in 2009. Stefan then went on to pursue a MSc in Research Masters in Public Administration and Organisational Science from Utrecht University, which they completed in 2011. Stefan further continued their studies and obtained a PhD in Economics from Leiden University from 2011 to 2015. Recently, they pursued a program at Blikverruimers in 2022-2023, and they are currently enrolled in a program at Nyenrode Business University, aiming to become suitable for level A pension fund management by completing the degree "SPO Pensioenfondsbestuurder Geschikt worden op niveau A" in 2023-2024.
